Notes/Description Michigan Colleges Online is pleased to announce the 2017 MI OER Summit – a gathering of OPEN enthusiasts and those who are interested and eager to learn, network and advocate. This year’s event is hosted by Kellogg Community College (Battle Creek, MI) at the Binda Performing Arts Center on September 22, 2017.

Our keynote for the Summit is Dr. Robin DeRosa – professor and chair of Interdisciplinary Studies at Plymouth State University, New Hampshire – who has been using Open Educational Resources (OER) in her classes and will speak on how Open Pedagogy enhances her teaching and her students’ learning.

Additionally, the Summit will provide networking opportunities and sessions that range from how to start using OER to building a complete program using OER, launching an OER initiative, and faculty experiences with OER.

Who Should Attend: Institution leaders involved in the use of open educational resources (OER) in teaching and learning. That includes:
Faculty interested in OER and those using OER in their classes
Librarians involved in campus OER initiatives
Instructional designers and technologists that assist with the development and inclusion of OER in classes
Administrators that drive the OER strategy and initiatives at the institution
