Notes/Description Using a variety of assessments can be challenging in an online learning environment. During this discussion we will define different types of assessments, how to use assessment to inform teaching and learning, identify strategies to evaluate student learning, and explore examples of a variety of assessment techniques and tools.

Presenter: Darci Duran is the Director of Instructional Design at Colorado Community Colleges Online. Since 2015, Darci has managed a team of six Instructional Designers and eLearning Technologists at CCCOnline. She began working in higher education in 2002 as an Instructional Technologist, Webmaster, and Online Marketing Coordinator at Eastern Wyoming College. From 2012 to 2015, Darci worked at Trinidad State Junior College as a Distance Education Technology Specialist. Ms. Duran is a Quality Matters (QM) Peer Reviewer and facilitates the Online and Face-to-Face Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) Workshops. Darci is on the Board of Directors for the Instructional Technology Council, holds a certificate from SUNY for Assessment of Learning Outcomes and holds a MS in Instructional Technology from the University of Wyoming. Darci also teaches blended and online courses as an adjunct instructor.
