What Does the GDPR Mean for Education Privacy in the U.S.?

The European Union is working to address privacy in a unique way, that will have an impact on higher education. 

Adopted in April 2016 and effective May 2018, the European Union released the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which, according to its websitereplaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.
