California Community Colleges Joining Forces for Online Success

The California State Legislature approved a proposal from Gov. Jerry Brown to fund an Online Education Initiative that plans to increase the number of students who obtain associate degrees and transfer to four-year colleges.  The $57 million multi-year funding will provide technology resources and centralized "Online Education Ecosystem" to the state's 112 community colleges with the hope to increase student success rates in online programs.  The effort is being led by Foothill-DeAnza Community College District and Butte-Glenn Community College District in California.
